Angels & Demons - 4 Stars

I read this book because one of my friends recommended Dan Brown. Also, there was a lot of hype about the new movie coming out and I heard that A&D was supposed to "kick Da Vinci Code's butt". I was very fascinated with Da Vinci Code (I had just seen the movie, always meant to read the book but never got around to it.) So I decided since A&D was actually first in the series (chronologically) I would read that one first. Well, I really liked it a lot! It was very well written and very suspenseful, definitely a thriller. Once the story got going, I had a hard time putting it down. It is pretty intense and also one to make you think. I loved all the art history in it and I'm sure my aunts would also enjoy that aspect of it. It made me want to go to Rome more than I already do! It has many twists and turns and always keeps you guessing. And then just when you think you have it figured out, he makes you look like an idiot. Haha. Oh, I must say that I hated the very end of the book. The ending of the whole story was fine, just the very last page of the book is so DUMB! Just had to say it. Anyway, I would for sure recommend it to those who haven't read it. I also read Da Vinci Code afterward and also enjoyed that, but I did like A&D a little better.

I read A&D after the Da Vinci Code and liked it a lot. Good writer that Dan Brown. Thanks for posting your thoughts and feelings.

I'm over half done with it and am enjoying it. Haley checked it out of the Riverton Library while she was here. She finished it pretty quick and I decided that I'd read it while it was checked out already. I also read Da Vinci code a couple of years ago. They are both good and pretty interesting.

I've read them both and enjoyed them. I think I liked Angels and Demons better then Da Vinci Code, it's been quite a while, now I am curious of the last page and what it contains. I have never seen either, but have heard both movies are hud sauce.

Loose Radiohead tie-in (you know I love a RH tie-in): You know the golden proportion or ratio whatever that is, discussed in The Da Vinci Code? In their album In Rainbows, if you use that formula, Thom sings the words "in rainbows" right when the album enters the golden ratio (which is the only time those words are spoken or referred to in that album).

It's nothing big, just the cheesiest line ever!!! I was like all exhilarated with the whirl-wind ending and then I read that last line and my mouth dropped and it was instant let down. I just thought, "what a dumb ending to such a good book." Anyway, I thought it was a travesty, guess I'm the only one. I am curious about how they did the movie, but of course, they are never as good as the book.

I just saw the movie, OK but not anything fabulous. It was good though. They changed A LOT of things from the book. That is to be expected though. But, overall it was pretty good. Kinda freaky actually seeing all of those things happen.
