Sunday's With Sue

The Breakfast Club! Another great John Hughes movie from the 80's. This movie is still very watchable today, it doesn't seem as outdated as most movies from that era. And I just love Anthony Michael Hall in this! He is such a great nerd. Revisit this movie if you haven't seen it in a few years.

Emily is the only one that got it right! Way to go Em, you are really racking up the points. And she is right, all the quotes come from Judd Nelson's character, Bender. He has the best lines! I really thought more of you would have gotten this one! Emily got it right from the first quote, Bronwyn just sent me a guess of A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Here is this week's movie quote:

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

I'm back baby!

His lines were great in this. I love the one about Hall's lunch. I am surprised more of you peeps didn't get this. Honestly, I have only seen this movie all the way through maybe 3-4 times, and not in the past 10 years. It is possibly my favorite coming of age movie.

Never seen it.

Congrats, Em! Grrrrrrrrrr (guess the "pregnancy brain" stuff had some merit to it)....

Haven't seen BC in many, many years. Actually thought about revisiting following Hughes's death but never did, dang it.

Dang. I really should have gotten this. Really. Good job Em. And yes, I have seen this with you a few times back in the day.

"ANYONE CAN PLAY GUITAR!!"

Ahggg! The Breakfast Club. Yes I liked that movie. Saturday night late after the BYU/UNLV football game I clicked through the movies on cable and "Dutch" was just a half hour old and I started watching it. Another John Hughes movie. I had to see the whole thing. Hughes sure knew how to get into a character and develop funny scenes. Loved the way Ed O'neil thumped the bad dad at the end and lessons the boy learned on their trip home...rather like a T.P.& Automobiles trip....good stuff!

When Radioheadacke came on, I knew Emily won again....auggg! Way to go Em's. You are back and we are all glad to have you back.

Isn't it a splendid world where you can hear them so clearly dad, to give you a radioheadache?

Just be glad I'm not into Insane Clown Posse or something.

Yes, I'm glad to hear them and all others, except for maybe Insane Clown Posse (whoever the bip they are) and the tripping tulip guy. It is a splendid world. That reminds me of ol' Satchmo, "It's a Wonderful World" song that makes me smile when I hear it...

Haha.. WV is flubyna...how about that one, Em's aka flubby

I've never seen this one either. I don't think I'll ever win again!

Insane Clown Posse is the worst Dad. Trust me. So bad that there is a gang of white trash kids here in Riverton that hang out in the ghetto by the skate park who call themselves that. They are over 18. One of them I know is at least 25. They wear clown masks (or just paint their faces) and wear wife beaters and over sized baggy pants from the 90's and stand around kicking hacky sacks. They also pick up girls that can't be over 16. I walked by them one time and they were just standing there listening to Insane Clown Posse on their cell phones. I laughed at them and wasn't scared at all. Mainly because I played hacky with them once and now they all think I'm God.

Haha. The only reason I know that band exists is because I remember some freaky girl wearing their t-shirts in high school. LAME SAUCE HUD LICK DIRT.

Loved BC! My generation. Good job EM. I also never heard of Clown Posse. What a strange name? A lot of you have eclectic tastes in music. It is fun hearing new stuff. Good to see some of you last week.

Only Matt could win over Insane Clown Posse fans. That's crazy you haven't seen Breakfast Club Ames. I thought everyone has seen that movie.

Here is the Wednesday quote. I know everyone has seen this movie, wouldn't know it by the guesses though! So yes, that is a hint that it is still anyone's game. Okay, here is the quote:

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

The Breakfast Club is R, why some of us haven't seen it. I have no idea on this next one.

Emily said...

Rebuttal: I don't think I have ever seen the rated R version of this movie. It's been on like tbs so much, that's the way I've always seen it- catching it on tv.

Haley said...

Yeah, that's the only reason I have seen Gladiator, on tv. I want to see the edited version of The Patriot sometime, I've heard that's really good. I think I remember flipping through channels one time and seeing about 5 min of The Breakfast Club, I don't think it was the edited one though because I remember the language was terrible and it was seriously just a couple minutes! Didn't know it was R til yesterday.
