Another idea

Okay, I have another idea. I was inspired by Emily's friend Emily's blog. (I sometimes link to Emily's blog through Emily's blog, so I can get to her sister Jane's blog. Catch that?) Anyway, one day I noticed she does a Movie Quote Monday. I thought it was kind of funny, she lists 5 quotes and then has everyone guess. I think it would be fun to do something similar. I propose, every Sunday, I put a quote on the blog. It can be a quote from a book, movie, tv show or song. Then everyone can guess. We can call it Sunday's with Sue (I just giggled for like 10 minutes when that name popped in my head). Tell me what you think.

Fantastic.
There is a flaw that I wonder if we can rectify. If you hit the comments, you are spoiled with the answers of the other participants. I guess, I can have my answers before going into the comments, but sometimes on blogger the comments are displayed.
LOVE Sundays With Sue,
hehehe....
Did dad give you a random movie quote to guess in your myspace inbox today too? I'm still working on mine.

I haven't checked my myspace for awhile. Kind of a coincidence with the whole movie quote thing I posted. I'll check it in a few.

You're right about the comments thing. Perhaps everyone could email or text me their answers then I could just leave one comment with everyone's answers and who the winner is? Maybe we can have a rule that comments are only to be used to ask me for hints or something (which I probably won't give), until I post the comment. We can work something out.

I think I'll do it by just putting a quote on there. Not even let you know if it's a movie or a song or what.

Another fantastic idea. We should email our answers and you post them all later.
The comments can be discussions or turn into what our comment forums inevitably turn into.

weird coincidence with dad and his quote for me today!

Dad didn't send me the movie quote. What is it? And I think I would rather everyone email or myspace message me their answers. I would prefer that over texting.

And I'm sure each one will turn into a 30 comment discussion. I think it's hilarious that we pretty much turn each one into a conversation. I wonder if that bugs people? It's pretty funny how it's turned into our family's main way of communicating.

I know! If it bugs them then maybe they have just learned to skip over the comments. The friends I have that have made a comment about our ways seem to find them funny, so who knows?

The quote is "I'll say hey to Walter for you". It is vaguely familiar, I am trying to come up with movies with Walters in them and my best guess so far is The Burbs.

Dad gave me a clue and I got it right away.

Sue said...

What's the clue?

Small Southern town in the 40's, insignificant character talking to my favorite character.

I can't figure it out! Forrest Gump?

I'm looking forward to Sundays with Sue, hehe!!

See it this helps. If dad would have coined it as a line in a book, I think I would have gotten it pretty fast, but as a movie, I had more trouble.

Sue said...

I still can't get it! You know for sure that it is something I'm familiar with?

Emily said...

I know you have read it, but no one is as familiar with it as I am (that is another clue)

Sue said...

Then it must be To Kill a Mockingbird! I've read the book multiple times and own the movie, but I never would have gotten it just by the quote!

Emily said...

Yeah, it is when Atticus is at the jail at night kind of guarding Tom, and a group of neighborhood guys come to raise a little trouble. Scout, Jem and Dill have snuck out there to see what Atticus is up to. Scout blows their cover by running to Atticus to hug him and it kind of brings the mob back to reality and they break up. She recognizes one of the men that didn't want to be recognized as the father of a very poor classmate (Walter Cunningham), whom had come home with her once for lunch. She told him to tell him hi, and after getting over his shock, he said that to her as they all left.
Cute little scene.
At first I thought it was Bob Ewell (he had like 12 kids), but dad told me no, and then it hit me that Ewell never did anything that decent and I remembered who it was exactly.

I remember the scene well. Scout is just such a great, cute kid. Not your daughter Scout, but Scout it the book. Well, your daughter Scout is too.

I can go with "Sunday's with Sue" fine after Sunday's with Jesus.

Dad, your comments are priceless. Sure you can handle a Sunday with Sue after a Sunday with Jesus?

Pops said...

Sue, it's only a gender thing!

Emily said...

A gender thing as in the only difference between Sue and Jesus?

Pops said...

Emily, you'r wright. There are a few other little differences. Savior, reedemer, advocate, Divine, Son of God, The Great I AM, Alpha and Omega, The Lamb, Jehovah, Counslor, Prince of Peace, Wonderful, Creator, Son of the Morning.....etc. etc.

Wow! I've never been compared to Jesus before! I did have a friend who had a mild, rare form of leprosy. You know what that makes you then dad!

I know, but I can't handle that yet!
