Book Club Book for September
Since I can pretty much tell you that Amy or Jane will not get around to posting Sue's idea, I will do the honors. I am in the Book Club for a few months anyway. The book we are reading for September is "Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain. A classic but one the three of us aren't really too excited about for some reason. I'm sure it will be good though. So if any of you want to join us, please do!

Tom Sawyer is a good book! It's a fun read. He is an original prankster.
I'll read it, as I haven't read it before. I've read Huck Finn and loved it, but I think Tom Sawyer is different. Aren't they friends or something? Or is that something I have always just thought since they are kind of similar characters? Looks like I can take a short break from my Fro Bagg reading as I am ahead of everyone. I have more spare time I think.
Yes, Tom and Huck are good friends. They are also friends with Joe something. I think you guys will like it.
Ok, I will give it a shot then. I am almost done with the first Harry Potter and am quite enjoying it!
I project that you will TOTALLY get into Harry Potter Haley. Have you seen all the movies?
Yes I have. And on monday night we watched the first one because I wanted to see it again now that I had read the book so that was fun. I think the movies are well done even if some things are cut out.
They are well done, but totally aimed at people that have read the books. Rob saw the first 3 with me and I had to explain so much to him on the way home (particularly with the 3rd).
I really like their choice of actors in all the roles except Professor Lupin and Delores Umbridge (both actors did fine in their roles, but were so unlike my visual image, I had a hard time with it.) Harry, Ron, Hermione and Snape are particularly great choices.
I finished Tom Sawyer Saturday night and really enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun, I would like Kyle to read it sometime. I started the 3rd Harry Potter this weekend, then will read our next month's Book Club choice, Persuasion by Jane Austen. Haven't read this one yet, but I'm a big Austen fan. Looking forward to it.
I finished Tom Sawyer too. It was good, I liked it. I think I might have enjoyed it more had I read it 15-20 years ago though.
