Yes, I finished all the Harry Potter books....sniff. I didn't really think of this as a race but when I finished Deathly Hallows yesterday, my mom said, "you won!" I am really missing Harry Potter land. I am sad that I am finished and I thoroughly enjoyed reading these books. I think that the characters, story, setting, everything was just well written. I LOVED the last book, the Deathly Hallows. I thought the whole book was just non-stop action and I loved every minute of it. I can't say much else about except that I loved how it ended. Happy reading to you all!
PS- That isn't the real book cover but I think it is a lot better than the real one! I really think that they should have picked better cover art for these books.

I like that picture. Much better then the real one, although I don't mind the 7th one as much as the first. They got a little better after the forth, but all still sucked.
(At first for a second I thought he was sitting at his own grave or something, but then I figured out that he is at his father's grave.) I love the part when he goes to Godric's Hollow... Too bad it couldn't have been under better circumstances.
Well, I am pleased that you enjoyed these books so much Haley (I am going to give myself a little pat on the back for creating this contest, and therefore introducing you to this great series). It is sad when they are done, but are great books to read again. You know me, I like reading and not necessarily new material. I have a little group of books that I can read over and over -kind of akin to comfort food. These books fall into this category well for me. A lot of people do this to movies, but I do it much more often to books.
So now are you going to be a Fro Bagg?
NO WAY!!!
Haley! Don't knock it until you've tried it! That's it! Next time I'm in Wyoming I'm bring my EXTENDED versions of all 3 LOTR movies. I'm going to tie up everyone who has bagged (hee hee) on them and force you to watch them. And to make the experience even better for you, I'll constantly make comments like "pay attention to this part" and "oh, this scene is really good". And I will rewind certain parts and make you watch them over and over until you get how good they are. Won't that be fun?
That's true Haley, you weren't too keen on HP until you started them...
Hey I got a word! sugerm, for Sugar Em, or Sugar mama.
Or, I suppose Sue germ.
Hey Sue germ, didn't you finish #3 like 2 weeks ago? Where is the review?
I haven't gotten around to it yet! I've been busy, those reviews take me a long time to post. I kind of wish I hadn't given you the third one back, I usually use it as a reference. oh well, I still have the notes I took. Yes, I take notes as I read them!
I remember the tent scene now.
And what the BIP is up with your new word comment? I don't get it.
Wait, I think I got it. Was it your verification word?
And speaking of the Harry Pot Pot's vs The Fro Bags, it's time to declare Em! Where are you in the series? You've been pretty quiet about it.
druffah is my word, hee hee, I like it. I think I'll use it instead of guffaw. "I let out a loud druffah when I read dad's latest comment."
Yes, Sue (germ) it is my catchka or whatever they are called officially. I have been silent. That is because I took a wee break. I figured I was so far ahead, that I didn't want to leave you in the dust, plowing through Harry Potter a year from now alone. I am half way through the 2nd book and actually brought it with me to work today because I think it is time I finished it. I am still going to be the Fro Bagg champ.
I am struggling with this one more then the first, it hasn't captured my attention as much.
That's funny about the notes.
For your information Sue, I have seen all three LOTR all the way through. I think they are ok but rather boring. It thought they dragged on too long. And I tried to read the Hobbit once but almost died of boredom. I will read them someday....
I probably should have warned you about the second one. Kind of like the second Twilight book, it is everyone's least favorite. Some really important stuff happens and some things are revealed, but it is the hardest read.
The 3rd one is the best. You'll love it!
Let me get this straight. You've seen all 3 movies and you thought they were boring? Whaaaaaaa?
Try this Sue: http://www.hp-lexicon.org/about/books/pa/chapters-pa.html
It's a chapter by chapter review/info of PoA. I had to look up the Deathly Hallows one while discussing the book with Haley because we discussed it some before she was done, and I hadn't read it in a long time and didn't want to give anything away. Anyway, maybe it will help since you already gave me the book back.
I liked the movies but I just thought that they dragged. I thought the way they were done was cool and really beautiful (New Zealand is awesome!) I really liked the elves, they were my favorite. I do have in my possession a Legolas life-size poster with him about ready to shoot an arrow. I KNOW I AM A NERD!!!!!
