Sunday's With Sue 9/20/9

Shawshank Redemption! Great movie. I get sucked in pretty much every time it's on cable. So, Em got it first! Yay Em! New baby and you won Sunday's With Sue! Dan was next. Dan was actually watching this movie and heard the easy peasy japanesey quote, but Em beat his guess by about 20 minutes! Dad was next, then Matt!

Sorry I didn't do the post until now, but I've been busy. Busy doing what you ask? Busy hanging out with Dave! Yeah, that's right, hanging with Dave. The truck driving school didn't work out, so Dave called me and I picked him up and he's been staying with me the last few days. We went to Cat and Travis', so Dave could hang with them and see Booker. Then today, we went down to Em's and surprised Mom! It was great, the look on Mom's face was priceless. She at first thought I had Cam with me, then she realized it was Dave! Here are a couple of pictures.

Scout took an instant liking to Uncle Dave. And yes, Dave shaved his head last Friday. He looks great! Mom said it was the best day of her life and I really think it was. Dave is heading back to Reno tonight, he is taking the Amtrak back, it leaves around 11:30pm. RandR Donnelly is hiring a couple of pressman in Reno, Dave used to work for them, so he sent them his resume yesterday. He is kind of anxious to get back so he can interview and hopefully start working soon. He is still thinking about getting his CDL, but will probably do that on his own. So yay! We got the reunion we wanted, too bad he can't stick around a couple days longer and see Amy and Matt when they come down. But, I have a feeling we will be seeing more of Dave. He checked out the blog and wants to join.

I'm just going to wait until this Sunday to do a new movie quote, so just sit tight peeps.

Wow! What an exciting day. It's awesome. Family is where your greatest joy is and we experienced that today. Welcome back Dave. We love you and have missed you. We don't want you to feel any guilt...just know that you are loved and wanted and needed in this family. Thanks for calling me today. It was so great to hear your voice and hear from you. Good job Sue for all your help. Happy day! And Dave, you do look great. Nice to see such a big smile on your face! Love to you all!

I am speechless! I was speechless on the phone with Dave today too. I just know I loved hearing his voice, and picturing him there with Mom and Sue and Em and Rob and Scout and B! I bet Mom was so happy. It is fun to picture Sue and Dave driving around making visits to surprise the fam! That must have been a blast for you guys.
Sorry to hear the trucking thing didn't work out. There are a lot more companies to truck for though, and I bet sitting down and driving on the open road with all the scenery and everything would be pretty nice after being in a printing press for 21 years. Hope he still goes for it. I wouldn't mind going with him on a few runs! Kinda strange, but I have always wanted to do that! Maybe not BE a trucker, but truck a little you know?
Anyway, good day for sure. Dave, if your reading this, it was great to talk to you today. You did the right thing by contacting all of us. I have a few great memories of us when I was growing up, and really hope we can have more in the future! Ok, that sounded really cheese, but it's true. Take care of yourself and keep in touch. Much love from your little bro.

Exciting times! What a great day. I have so many wonderful memories of Dave during the year I was with you guys and then even a few after that--probably when Dave came back for a couple of your weddings and things. Can't wait to reconnect a bit with you Dave. What a great family this is full of loving people who are all excellent folk and pretty dang smart and interesting people besides.

Also, I talked with Ben today and due to some stuff with the house he's living in right now, he actually may be returning to Utah sooner than Thanksgiving time as it isn't worth looking for something there for just a month or so. Should know more in a few days and he or I can update here....

Congrats on the win, Em! Dang it all. As Sue said, it was luck for me that I just happened to be watching. I DO think I would have gotten it from the second quote but not as quickly. FANTASTIC movie. A definite favorite....

So we gonna get Radiohead and only Radiohead this week? Looking forward to your tunes.

Wow! The Daver shows up. What a supprise and neat thing. I know mom was blown away with the supprise visit and seeing her boy again. Nice Pics. Nice buzz cut, Dave, looking good. Sue and Dave called yesterday afternoon just as Matt and I were getting our stuff together to go out in the hills and do some shooting and blow up a few things with our gunpowder. I sold my reloading equipment and had a lot of cans of rifle and pistol powder left over and thought I better get rid of it. It does burn so pretty. Maybe Matt will post a video clip. Anyway, good to talk to Dave and hope he stays in touch and can make it out to a reunion soon.

Props and love to sue for hosting Dave and putting his visit together with the Fam. Good excuse for not doing SWS timely, but worth it. Even I am getting tired of hearing my own playlist. Time for a change, even if it is all radiohead stuff. I'm bummed that I have to work all weekend and have a terrorist drill that I have to attend or I would come to Utah and see Tiny E and all you guys. Can I say I want to see Lola as bad as Elle? No, I guess not. Sorry for the thought. It's early in the AM and my mush brain isn't working yet.

Take that Dan! Wow, 20 minutes, that's got to hurt a little. I think Thom just slapped Chris in the face a little bit.
Just gloating a little, congrats on being the only other one to get it. Love the movie myself and have seen it many many times. The first quote haunted me as did the second -and I must confess that Rob helped me brainstorm a little.
I have decided that since my playlist will be up for a week and a half, I won't subject you all to pure Radiohead, I will mix it up a little.
Now I need to think of some songs I liked before I got sucked into the Radiohead vortex.

I added a little homage to the blog on here, heehee. I was also in the mood for some weirder Radiohead tunes so- enjoy (there is weirder stuff).

Oh yeah--- and it was really good to see Dave and it would be great to have him on here! Hope to see you on here Dave I'll email you so you have my email address to let me know your gmail.com, so I can add you as an author.

Cheers

Cool to get some gloating and smack from you, Em. We'll all have a chance to see if this "pregnancy brain" schtick you've been running lately has anything to it as an excuse for your non-dominance of late! Let the wild rumpus start! I'm gonna raise my game and come after you and Matt and that top spot. (Uh, Sue, let me know if you ever need any "suggestions" for films to feature...)

Seriously, too: congrats! And I like the playlist (except for all the RH songs--ha ha!).

I just made the discovery that scout is doing that same pose in BOTH pictures! Look in the bottom left corner of the second one! So cute.

Oh, and Em: I love that you put "the kids were all right" by The Who. Nice touch.

I was so overjoyed to hear about and see pics of Dave. Facebook is so cool to get updates. This blog is so wonderful to chat with everyone and I too hope Dave contributes. We all love him very much! I feel blessed to be part of a great family of supportive and not to mention intelligent and articulate people:)

Haha about Scout- I didn't notice that!
