The Blind Side - 41/2 Stars

Wow, we all saw this movie last night and we all loved it! It seriously is such an amazing story, truly inspiring. I can't stop thinking about it and can't wait to see it again. It's a great story, great acting, funny, heartwarming, really everything! I love inspiring true stories and this certainly is. I don't like telling the story because it gives it away I think. I think you all would love it. Everyone is calling it Sandra Bullock's best role ever and I think I agree, she was great in this. I just thought it was very well done and it just leaves you desiring to be a better person.

Agree with you, Haley. Hope saw it first and told Lorri and I we had to see it. We loved it, too! Can't believe how many funny moments are in it along with all the inspirational elements. I've been reading about Michael Oher the past couple of days since and he sure seems like a genuine, wonderful guy who really has his head on straight. Makes me want to root for the Ravens a bit.

I liked it. Glad I went. Sandra Bullock still kinda bugged me. Sorry, don't mean to be a hater. Her acting has always bothered me. And I thought her character in this was a little over played and exaggerated. Big Mike's character was good. The other kid, the boy in the family was great too.
Awesome inspiring story and made me want to do something more with my life.

I babysat Allison last night and they all came home and said I had to see it, so I'm going tonight with my girls!

I loved it. Great movie! I didn't think Sandra overplayed the part, I think she was a pretty typical southern mom. Of course she was a little exaggerated for Hollywood, but I liked her.

Matt just doesn't care for the girl. I saw the preview for this and thought it looked really good. We'll have to check it out for sure. Thanks for the recommend.

By the way, Awkward family photos has had some winners lately! The apple wedding series, the accidental tourists, a scary santa and easter bunny, but perhaps my favorite is whodunit? WTB??

Agree that they've been great, and especially with the Whodunit one. Holy moly, how would someone think to pose that strange picture?!

From reading some of the articles about the real story behind The Blindside, it seems like Sandra was pretty dead on in capturing the essence of Leigh Anne. The person who recedes into the background a bit too much in the movie is the dad, Sean. In the articles and book excerpts, he seems to be much more of a hands-on, working with kids (and not just Michael), not "just going along for the ride his wife is taking the family on" person in the Michael story as well as in real life. Impressive people.

Yeah, good movie. As Vice in the D. news said, "A comfort movie" Seems even he liked it and he never likes anything.

YAWN!

Matt Wright said...

Does this yawn mean the blog is boring right now? Or that you saw this movie and found it to be a yawning festival?

Emily said...

Yawning festival- totally mom. I was referring to the blog-- it's boring yet I really have nothing to talk about.

Frodo and I saw it on Tuesday at the drive-in and both loved it:) I liked Sandra also and I saw her and the real Leigh Anne on Oprah and I think she nailed her very well. So inspiring and I hope other people will consider taking in kids who need homes.
