WTB movie is Alex talkin bout?

WOOOOHOOOO! I am excited to be here, I'll tell ya what. I have been quietly blog stalking you guys for a little while now, waiting for my chance to strike, and then.....WHAM! Finally a movie quote I recognized. Funny story...

For the last couple months I was living in Cedar City, we got our cable shut off, leaving me and my roommate, neither of us having much of a job, with just a handful of DVDs to keep ourselves entertained. We decided, after we had pretty well worn out the small selection we had, we ventured to Wal-Mart to raid the discount movies bin. Lo and behold, there it was, the Indiana Jones trilogy (yes, Em, I also refuse to recognize Crystal Skull) in a nice little box set for like, $7.99. Score! We watched the crap out of em until we moved out. So the Indy movies were definitely pretty fresh on my brain. Last Crusade is definitely the best of the three and by far my favorite. Whenever I see Harrison Ford on TV or anything, I cannot help but picture him as Indy, saying all those classic cheesy lines.

So here we go with this week's quote-

"Tasty, huh? In a toxic, festering sort of way....."

Good luck!!

I wish I had the trilogy for $7.99! Wow what a deal. Too bad I have a Walmart vendetta.

That's music you put on your playlist?

Who said it was okay to let this newbie play? Who was third again?

Alex said...

Hey Dad, why don't you shut your face and go listen to some Coldplay or Meatloaf or somethin....

Emily said...

Baby's Day Out........ check it out on AFP-- ha!

Eww, what is that... a creepy Lotus? Ugh, they'd want that hanging in their house? Gross!

What the bip were they thinking??

Dan W said...

That is truly bizarre...

Alright troops, here's your Wednesday quote:

Person 1 "You've got a long way to go yet, lad!"

Person 2 "He's not a lad, brother. He's a man! He's a Man!"

Sorry Alex, still no clue!

Alex, You sure this isn't one of your $7.99 Wal-mart specials, picking up a movie that NO ONE else has ever seen?! This ain't ringing a bell at all.

SOMEONE please get this one and put some MUSIC back up on the blog, ans I'm still not digging very many of these tunes! (And note that of the NINE times I won in SWS, I never listed a Coldplay song, and I'm pretty sure not much, if any, Meatloaf. So you need to bring better smack than that. Weak sauce, baby.)

Emily said...

The first quote rings a bell for me I think- second didn't help. I am hoping to get it with the next clue. Maybe.

Emily said...

Oh and I don't mind your music Alex except of course for the twangy twang. I swear, everytime I come on that song is the one I'm accosted with.

Crunchin' on a pork rind when she pulled up......

REALLY???????????!!!!!!

Emily said...

ps I liked your one meatloaf song Dan.

C'mon guys you can do this! I really really don't wanna stump ya on my first WTB. That would be pretty lame. This is a movie I'm almost positive you all have seen. Matt and Amy have made mention of it within the last week or two. I'll admit it's kind of a toughy and not a super qoutable movie (outside of my circle of cowboy friends, anyway) I'm tempted to throw ya a little bone here and supplement the Wednesday hint but I'm afraid it will give it away. So I'll wait til Friday and give a super hint."

You can do it!!!

Haley said...

"Good Directions" is a tad twangy but I actually like it! It's cute!

Haley said...

And this hint doesn't help me at all either!

The Living End = Yummy

Matt Wright said...

I gotta pipe in on a few things. First, yes Haley, Living End=Yummy. I burned Alex a Living End CD and I hear it's all that has been played in his truck since. Yay! Good stuff indeed.

BUT, it doesn't outway how bad that Eric Church song sucks. haha.

And I have seen Less Than Jake 5 or 6 times in concert and I will be the first to admit that the one on here sucks so bad. Doesn't sound like them at all. They changed a lot. Trying to make money and please the crowd I guess. Can't say I blame them too much. At least I know they CAN wright good music.
Sorry to rip your music Alex. My bad. I am glad you are on the blog now. I just had to join in on the fun. :)
On the quote, it is definitely familiar. Kinda driving me nuts actually. I am going to give it some serious thought right after I finish this post. WATCH OUT PEEPS!

Oh, on a positive note, I do like the lyrics in that Brand New song. For some reason I am a sucker for a good hate song on a girl. (weird, as I have never REALLY had a relationship end bad. Well...)

Who can freaking "criticize Morrisy"?!

Alex said...

Hate on me Haters....Haha it's all good I don't mind the criticism. I must admit I could have put a little more thought into the playlist. I just got a little excited and threw somethin together and I knew it wasn't going to be a crowd pleaser. The twangies, although both are great songs, were mainly just meant to annoy. Mission accomplished.

The Living End has still yet to leave the CD player in my truck. I jam to it constantly. As far as Brand New is concerned, ex-girlfriend hate songs are their bread 'n butter. As someone who has had a few wicked nasty break ups, they have been quite therapeutic from time to time. Also, give a good listen to "Wicked Twisted Road" I love it and can totally relate to it.

WTB Friday quote will be posted tonight at midnight so stay sharp.

Good luck, Mates! (subtle hint #2)

Sorry I'm late guys. Matthew and I got on a bit of a kick, as we sometimes do. We got all jacked up on some of those cool throwback one liter glass bottle Coca-Colas. Then we ran into Annie in the basement and, in case you didn't know, whenever you run into Annie in the basement, you must play Rock Band until your eyeballs hurt. It's totally worth it though, just to watch that girl bust some ridiculous guttage on them drums. She is a freak.

So that lasted 'til bout 12:30ish. Then we got onto what we originally ventured to the basement to do, which was to watch the movie "New York Doll" If you have not seen this movie, do not watch anything else until you have seen it. It's so bippin good. Guaranteed you'll love it.

Then I took Matt home and now here I am.

So here it is.....

Person 1 "You've got a long way to go yet, lad!"

Person 2 "He's not a lad, brother. He's a man! He's a Man!"

Person 3 "The man ____ _____ _____"

Also, earlier in the movie somebody said this:

"Both he and his horse are mountain bred. I want them along."

Good night.

Dan W said...

Wow, that movie is a total blast from the past! So bad it's a fun one to be reminded of...

Haley said...

Yep definitely never seen it. Haha about Annie, that's so true!!

*shudder* on those lyrics Em. *shutter* again. Here is something that bothers ME about country: It's like they are trying to come up with the most "county" things possible, just for the sake of country. Lame. Not all of them, but far too many seem like that to me. No feeling or anything, just, I'm gonna make a country hit singing about country stuff. Not trying to be a hater, and I wouldn't call myself a country hater either... I can stand it most of the time and even like some of it sometimes. But man, it's few and far between.
Check out Ryan Adams (Not Brian, Ryan) Emily. I would be interested on hearing yours and anyone else's opinion of him. Country with out the... Crap. I am starting to really like his stuff.

Oh, and Alex, let me help you out a little:

"It's so peaceful here" "REEE REEE REEE!!!"

Sorry... couldn't resist.

AAHHHHH!!!!!!

Emily said...

I'm going to be the only one that doesn't get this movie! I feel like I should know it, but man- nothing's coming. Gee I hope I'm not pregnant.

I will see what I can do about that dude tomorrow Matt. Right now I don't know what to do with the fact that I just got a country music recommendation from Matt. I think I'll go to bed and sleep it off.
