WTB Movie

It had to be TWILIGHT. This is the week for all of us Twilighters. We went to the new one last night and it wasn't as much a snoozer as the last two. Fun being with all the fam.

Okay, Haley did it again and beat all contestants. Emily was right behind her a few hours on Saturday the 26th. Then Amy, Matt, Souix, and Dan. Always fun doing the Movie quiz and waiting for your answers and guesses and looking up the quotes.

Keep on trucking!!!

Congrats, Haley--Twilight nerd.

Now for more important things: We need details on your day together! Who fell out of the boat? How noisy were all of you in eating Sun Chips at the movie? Did you go to that same crappy theater? What games have been played so far and who has taken over in my absence at being the most obnoxious?

OK Dan, we'll give you some details of the weekend. The movie Friday night left us with some good memories, not quite the experience we had with New Moon. Lots of restless kids walking up & down the aisle. The funniest moment, I think, was the second (and I mean the SECOND) the movie was over the theater lights went up signaling us to all leave immediately. We all laughed hard. The movie didn't quite give us as much to make fun of and NO Sunchips!
The river rafting was great. I stayed with Scout, Elle, and Allison and followed along in the car and got out at all the spots I could to watch & take pictures. I could hear them all from afar screaming and laughing. They all got wet and enjoyed it and Matt was the only one who fell out. I guess he just kind of slipped slowly overboard, not a quick throw-out. The funny thing was as he was slipping out he was heard saying, "seriously???". He has been quoted since. After the river trip we went to a park in Thermopolis and had a picnic. We also walked around the hot springs and across a cool swinging bridge. We got home and some went fishing, some just chilled at home. We BBQ'd hamburgers and went to an incredible fireworks show in Lander. Great day. Sunday I got home from church to find everyone sitting around the table playing Tripoly. When I walked through the door they all raised their heads and opened their mouths like baby birds and started making little baby bird sounds (meep, meep, meep). I about died! I guess while they were playing some hunger pains started coming on and Catherine said, "I'm hungry, where's Amy?" It took off from there and they came up with this funny little display when I came home. The funniest thing was seeing my dad chirp like a baby bird. That scene is forever etched in my memory. We had a yummy dinner of grilled turkey, dutch oven potatoes, corn on the cob & watermelon. We lit off some fireworks and looked in Dave's telescope throughout the night. We saw Saturn & one of its moons, and at about 3 am while playing Settlers we saw Jupiter with 3 moons. It was incredible. Dave was awesome, I'm so glad he came. I'll finish in the next comment, I don't want to run out of room.

I saw your comment on Facebook referring to the Holly Holy song so I'll explain. Alex has inspired Matt to learn to play the guitar. He's really enjoyed it and is quite good now. A couple of weeks ago, he mentioned to me that he'd love to surprise his sisters one night when they were here and start singing a Neil Diamond song. So that's what he did. Holly Holy it was. We quickly pulled up the lyrics and sang along at 2 am. YES! It was great. We also played a really fun game where we drew pictures and interpreted each others. Hard to explain in a few words, but I don't think we've laughed that hard in a long time! Good times, great family!

Thanks! Too funny about "seriously" and the hungry birds, especially thinking of George going for it, too! Great to know the origins of your new name. Also fun to hear about the Holly Holy stuff. Very cool that Matt is going great guns on the guitar. Creative, artistic people... me jealous!

Need more explanation about the picture interpreting! Can't quite imagine that well enough yet. Anyone want to give an example?

All of us Utah Spoons saw Eclipse, too. Overall our thoughts are that it is definitely better than the other two, much funnier, and that they stayed very close to the book. For me it was all still just "too earnest" and rarely (maybe only in the case of Charlie) did any of the dialogue seem like things real people would say. Of course, only a few of the main characters are real humans....

Of course the main laugh/cry for me came with the graduation speech and Jessica urging everyone to make great big mistakes like majoring in philosophy because everyone knows it won't lead to a good career. Lorri punched me at that point.

Haha on the philosophy!
I will explain the paper game in detail cause I think I could make a decent post on tkwaw. Look for it tomorrow or possibly the next day.
