Haley's WTB

Wow can't believe I won again! So, I have been out of it this last week because our stupid internet went out and we are waiting for a new modem to arrive. It is such a pain because Marcus and I have had to take turns going to the library to get our homework done! AGH! As if it isn't hard enough. So anyway, here is your new quote for the week:

Person: You're born into a family. You do not join them like you do the Marines.

***Wednesday Clue***

Person 1: I guess I don't remember meeting you.
Person 2: Well, that's probably because we've never met.
Person 1: That could have something to do with it.

***2nd wednesday clue***
Since you guys are struggling I will add a second clue for today.

Person 1: Doesn't anybody use a phone anymore?
Person 2: I do.
Person 1: I'm not talking about 900 numbers.
Person 2: Who told?!

***THURSDAY CLUE***

You guys obviously need some help on this one so I will put up a special thursday clue that is pretty easy if you have seen the movie.

Person 1: The truth was that I fell in love with you.
Person 2: You fell in love with me?
Person 1: No, N-o, yes. All of you. I went from being all alone to being a fiancee, a daughter a granddaughter, a sister and a friend.

***FRIDAY GIVEAWAY***

Lucy: I'm having an affair. I like Jack.
Jerry: Who's Jack?
Lucy: Peter's brother.
Jerry: So?
Lucy: So he thinks I'm engaged.
Jerry: To who?
Lucy: To Peter.
Jerry: Lucy, I really don't have time for this.
Lucy: No, you have to tell me what to do.
Jerry: Tell the truth.
Lucy: If I tell Jack I lied to his family he will never speak to me again. And Ox and Midge and Mary and Saul.
Jerry: Saul? Who's Saul?
Lucy: The next door neighbor. But you know what? Actually, he knows.
Jerry: Lucy, you are born into a family. You do not join them like you do the marines.
Lucy: So what should I do?
Jerry: Pull the plug.
Lucy: You're sick.
Jerry: I'm sick? You're cheating on a vegetable.

Good luck!

How come I don't know this quote about the Marines? I don't forget anything about the Marine Corps.

I don't have a clue either. Maybe Wednesday's will help.

Are you guys enjoying my 80's tunes? Allison is dancing so I'm assuming she is enjoying them. Haha.

This movie is hurting my brain this week. Why can't I think of it????

Not the most helpful clue! Still might be the one I guessed but really not getting a lot of traction yet.

Like the two Forever Youngs and also Landslide. Not my favorite Michael song. I kind of liked Music and Lyrics the movie (especially the new agey rock star and also Drew's sister) so PoP Goes My Heart is pretty funny. The others are pretty, too, but pretty . . . irritating. I've been to a couple of Rick Springfield concerts (friend who forces me to go with) so I like Jessie's girl when it's live, but always change off it when it comes on radio.

Familiar lines, but can't pin-point it yet. I give up!
That's so funny, Dan, that you've been to 2 Rick Springfield concerts!!! Not just one. Too funny. Does he just sing Jessie's Girl over and over or did he have more songs? Sorry. And Haley, of course I love the 80's tunes. Good times!

Now that I think harder about it, I've seen him 3 times! Once at the Utah State Fair, once at the Scera Shell in Orem, and once in Wendover. All three times I was railroaded by a friend named Mike Stuy who is an 80s music freak and really pushy (ask Alex about him--he's persistent).

I have to admit, however, he's a great performer with lots of audience participation (and in Wendover, he cruised around the audience for several songs and actually stood on the arm rests of my chair and wailed for a few seconds there until the woman behind me pinched his butt and he moved to her chair for some semi-lewd moments). His best concert song that he does an extended version of is Don't Talk To Strangers, and he has audience sing parts and also will call on people's cell phones to talk to a friend of someone there, etc. There are other songs that work well in concert, but I can't think what they are right now. His song I actually kind of like and will listen to on the radio is Beautiful You.

And, believe it or not, the dude is a rocker. One thing he's famous for, I guess (cuz it has happened at all the concerts) is people bringing bouquets of flowers and them flying to pieces as he wails on his guitar strings with them. Not too hard core, I'll admit, but it's kind of fun seeing it...

Okay bring on the insults.... (But be careful in case I ever win the contest again!)

You guys are going to be kicking yourselves when you figure out this movie. :)

Why is Rick Springfield in it? haha. I kick myself a lot in this game. Wow, Dan, thanks for the details. Now I feel like I've been there. Pretty funny...3 times! Sounds like you're a good friend. Kind of like Sue and her REO Speedwagon freak friends, except I don't recall Sue actually GOING to the concert, just going with them to Wendover, I think.

I don't think I paid for either of the two Utah shows, and the Wendover one was, well, a chance to go to Wendover and play. I don't think the ticket was over $30 and it really was the best of the concerts....

Another group of strange concerts I've been to were also the doings of influential friends at BYU who loved them some funk: Earth, Wind, and Fire, Ohio Players, and Parliament! Parliament was way, way awesome. The others were a bit more subdued but still fun.

The image and thought of him getting on your chair first cracks me up! Then moving when he wasn't getting any action from you. haha. Awesome story Dan.

I was in the second to last row of the main middle section, and I was in the end seat. He'd worked his way stepping over and on seats across the whole section, playing and singing with wireless guitar and mic, moving during breaks in the verses and getting people to grab his hands as he would climb over the backs of chairs, etc. I think he avoided the back row because there would be no one to save him if he accidentally fell backwards, but then I guess when the woman behind me got a bit wild he just went for it. She was pretty dang funny and their little sexy dance together was way out there in terms of taste yet was all in fun. I talked with her and her husband as we were filing out of the concert hall and it was clear he liked having a sexy, exhibitionistic wife, so more power to them!
