WTB Movie Quiz

Loved Zoolander. Dan is wright. One of the stupidest, but funny movie of all time. One needs to be a little whack to enjoy it, but that includes all of you players.

From Montana here is the new WTB movie of the week. You that are coming to Riverton for the big weekend will probabally knock me upside my head for picking such an obscure movie this week. Well, too bad, peeps! You need a challange.

Quote: "I'd never given much thought to how I would die...but dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go."

Good luck and hope you enjoy my playlist of music. I am staying well away from the Dan, Emily, Matt music discussion. I kinda side with Amy, Haley in the music department.

WEDNESDAY: I can't believe I am giving you such a nice big softball to hit. Maybe I am looking for a "get it wright record" Maybe since many of us will be together in Wyoming this weekend, I don't want any of you to be mad at me. Whatever! Here is more of the insipid conversation from the movie. QUOTE:

Person 1: "Are you going to tell me how you stopped the van?

Person 2: "Yeah. Um.. I had an adrenaline rush. It's very common. You can Google it."

Giveaway Friday, if I have not already let the dogs out of the bag.

Person 1: Did you follow me?

Person 2: I...I feel very protective of you.

Person 1: So you followed me.

Person 2: I was trying to keep a distance unless you needed my help and then I heard what those low-lives were thinking.

Person 1 Wait. you say you heard what they were thinking:
So what you....you read minds?

Person 2. I can read every mind in this room apart from yours. There's...money - Sex - money - sex - cat. and then you. Nothing....that's very frustrating.

Person 1. Is there something wrong with me?

Person 2. See....I tell you I can read minds and you think there's something wrong with you?

Quote #2: Mike: You and Cullen huh?
(she nods)
Mike: I don't like it. He looks at you like...you're something to eat.

Hahaha.... Let's have a fun weekend...

Yeah, Dad, on the music taste...and yeah for Holly Holy! This quote actually seems familiar, but your comment on being obscure makes me worry. I'll have to think about it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That's all I have to say.

hahahaha! Yourself, Haley, you smart one, you. I can't put anything over on you....

I'm embarrassed that I know this one.

What's with the "Dueling Banjos" on your playlist? hahahahah what a weird choice. Here's a movie quote for you. "Squeal like a pig!"

Speaking of banjos, our friend Lanny, saw Steve Martin and his banjo band the other night at Red Butte Garden. Said it was great.

Dan W said...

My friends saw Steve Martin the other night, too. They also loved it even in the wind, cold, and rain.

So this week's movie isn't obscure and is also embarrassing to know? Can't wait for further clues.

Like Riders and Holly Holy. The rest of the songs, not so much.... Shocked to not have some Linda Ronstadt on this week's playlist, George. Have you fallen out of crush?

So I'm supposed to feel pretty stupid now, huh?

Punk Floyd??

Just heard an F-bomb in the I Will Survive version on the playlist (the one by Cake). Clearly you wanted to annoy us with some of the choices this week, George, but I can't think you wanted profanity...

One of my favorite lyrics of all time is in Riders on the Storm:

There's a killer on the road
His brain is squirming like a toad

Far out, man!

Suffice to say, I like it! I don't need to defend my playlist to you that are searching for controversy. I just like this variety of music. Yeah, Susie, I can't help but think of the linebred hillbilly kid in "Deliverance", but I just like the banjo and the way this is put together with the Guitar. The Birdland number has Miles Davis, Count Basie and a drummer I can't think of just now. I got to have a bit of Jazz now and then, just like a little bit of Pink Floyd and Primus needs to be heard now and then. Through in a Twang song and a cover of Gloria Gaynor's hit song that I like and here I am..
Enjoy! Sorry about the f-bomb in the Cake song.

Looking for controversy? Little old minds-his-own-business-and-never-pushes-buttons me? Never!!!

Just teasin' with the "trying to annoy us" line. Good on you for liking lots of styles!

Yeah- he's so innocent.

For the record I LOVE that cake cover (in fact I'd guess it is my favorite Cake song). I actually listed this song on my top 5 favorite cover songs of all time here: http://thekidswereallwright.blogspot.com/2008/10/top-5-best-remade-songs.html

remember when we used to do top fives? I loved those. We should start it up again.

My WV is "phact" as in.

In phact we should get the top fives going again. Perhaps I'll start.

Getting ready to go all High Fidelity, eh? Fun.

Emily said...

High Fidelity was our original inspiration, yes.

For the record, my favorite part about dad's playlist is it's title: Arffguy.

Pops said...

It is arff guy and not a misspell of barff guy. For any that might not know....I am a certified ARFF guy. We even have a trade association and conventions etc. It, of course, stands for: Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter.

Emily said...

OH! I actually thought it was referencing dogs.........

Pops said...

Oh, Ems, that is funny. I never thought of that. arff, arff like in bow,bow.. referencing dogs, you are the best! I am a dog guy.

I can't remember which post Dan's Rick Springfield concert comments are on and don't want to take the time to find it. But I HAVE to chime in! My friends, Doug and Ricky, got free tickets to his Las Vegas show lsat year, and did the exact phone call thing! Doug told me about it and I told him it sounded set up. Doug assured me there was no way it was set up it was so spontaneous! hahaha! I don't have the heart to tell him.

Dan W said...

Yeah, he's done the phone call thing in at least two of the three concerts I've attended. Too funny on your friend's perceptions. You two may be slightly talking past each other, though, as it isn't set up in any pre-arranged way with the person whose phone he uses. SO many people are taking pix with their phones, he just finds someone doing that and grabs it and asks who he should call. What is pre-arranged, however, is with the band who basically have to play the same chords over and over and over again for about 8-9 minutes while he does his audience shtick for that song.
