TKWAW Book Club?

Amy and I were happily discussing one of our favorite subjects together this weekend- what we've been reading. Amy had an idea that we should do a blog book club. We made this great book list and I don't know about you guys, but I've never gone back to even look at it. So here is our idea:

First off- we thought it would be a good idea to only do it every two months, to cut down on stress to those of us that are in another book club.

Secondly, we think we should rotate who picks the book and a good suggestion would be to pick a book that you put on the book list that you are the only one (or nearly) who has read it.

(that rule is greatly flexible of course to make allowances for people that want to participate, but may not have submitted any books, or if you've read a new book since you would like to feature. Picking one from the list just is a way to incorporate our book list more into our lives, cause it is a great list and there are many books on it I'd like to read, I just haven't.

So what about it peeps? Is this something anyone is interested in?

Maybe. Bookclubs totally turn me off.

Haha! I didn't know that- but that is a total Cat-ism.

I'm totally in, but... I don't really want to host it. At least not at first.

I'm in! Do you want to start Em to get us going?

I think your mom ought to start, I think she even has a book in mind.

Sure, I can start it off. Don't worry Cat, we won't be a normal book club (how could we be?). Emily described it perfectly. So many good books, so many to discover.

Alright then start us off mom, I'm excited!

Do you guys want to start April 1st or now. I think I'd rather start in April if that's OK with everyone. I would like to get through March Madness at my house. Thanks.

That's fine. I'll read Jane Eyre until then. :)

YES! You'll love it!

I was thinking beginning of April too.
Haley make sure you watch the BBC miniseries after the book (with Toby Stephens).

I'll play, too.

Mose, Do we have to wait until April to know what book you're picking?

No, I was thinking I'd give you a heads-up so you can all locate a copy. I guess I'll go ahead and do it right now and then give a more thorough introduction later. I am choosing the book, "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver. So get a copy by April first! I'm excited to have you guys read this book. I think of all the books I've read over the past few years, this one really made me think, " I think my sisters would really like this". I think you will also like it Dan, if you haven't read it already. I'm excited to read it again. I'll give you more information later.

Deal me in! I'm just back from Vegas with Skippy and getting caught up on things. Poisonwood Bible? Not a title I would pick at random. But I trust my eldest daughter so I'll give it a shot.

Sweet, Dan. Mom's even got a copy of it, so you don't have to find one. It's not a title I would have picked up either, but that's the beauty of book clubs I think. Thanks for the trust. And, welcome back!

I meant Dad.

I'm sweet, too!

Can't wait to read Poisonwood Bible! Always wanted to. Love Barbara Kingsolver (and even used a portion of her book, Bean Trees, in a my essay for Sunstone after Beverly died).

Thanks, Mose! Good pick!

Oh good. I wondered if you'd read it. I'm glad you're excited about it! And, of course, you are sweet, too.
