WTB? Titanic

I mostly picked this movie because I did wtb while watching the Oscars and this movie, while it ties in both categories, it is the only one to show up in both most wins and most nominated. It was nominated for 14 oscars (tied with All About Eve) and won 11 of them (tied with Ben-Hur and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King). I picked Titanic since it was in both categories and also because I haven't seen ANY of the other movies (I know, shame shame). The other reason I picked it is even though I only saw it one time, and even though hearing the name of the movie leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth- I actually enjoyed myself while watching it. The love story part of it never appealed much to me, but everything else was really cool. By everything else I mean the ship stuff. It really was awesome. I just wanted to remind myself and everyone else of that fact.

The winner this week was Alex! He got it rather quickly after the first quote. Congrats Alex- that was a good win. Next was pops, he got it yesterday after the shadow of death quote (that line still makes me shiver. GAG.) B got it next followed by Dan. Matt made a real valiant effort at 3:30 this morning and wrote, "pirates?" Haha. I was impressed that you even tried, you usually won't bother if you are pretty sure you aren't winning. Anyway, I figured that deserved some props. Good job Alex!

The "look at that thing! You would have gone straight to the bottom" quote made me think of Titanic actually! But, I just couldn't see that making the wtb. But, we are running out of Wright Classics. (still have a few up my sleeve though... if I could ever win. grrr)
Yes, I am trying not to be a sore loser and guess when I get around to it. The poker, the water, and the brandy all together reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean. But, Titanic obviously would have been the better guess. %)

(that is a Picasso smily face. hehe)

Nice win, Alex. Let's see what movie you come up with this time. Always interesting!

I have never liked DeCaprio, but I have to admit his later movies now that he is older i like him better. The Grape thing was alwright, however.

Picasso smily face! hahaha, good one, Foos.

I still can't place the "straight to the bottom" line. What scene is it in?

Leo rules!

It's when Jack sees her engagement ring, and he is referring to when she tried to drowned herself, which I think is when they meet, but can't remember fully.

Hmmm. Will have to watch again, I guess. I'm sure it's either right before or right after the nude scene, so I better look there first to find it, don't you think?

Haha Dan! Yeah, you better accidently push the slow mo button too.
Alex and I talked about these lines over Sunday dinner, and when I mentioned that I thought it was Kates ring, he said it was a necklace. Obviously that movie made quite an impression on him, so I will put my money on necklace.

The strategically draped necklace!

Yep, I think slo mo is vital. James Cameron worked so hard, we owe it to him to examine the artistry of every camera and lighting angle, etc.

Silly.

IMDB says "engagement ring", but that means little. Someone watch it, now I'm curious.

The nudity is art. (Just giving you an out in case Lori reads this.)

Now that I think about it, I think it was the engagement ring. But the whole movie is about a necklace, right? Isn't that what the old lady drops off the boat at the end?

It's not like I've watched this movie a million times or anything, I just happen to remember stupid little stuff.

Geez I'm startin to feel a bit dirty with all this nude scene talk. I guess its my bad for bringin it up. My bad peeps.

I'll be better, sorry! It's just that I get so inspired by artistry (thanks, Em, for helping me identify that reason for my comments)...

"The Grape thing" that cracks me up. It is pretty cool watching the ship sink, but other than that, this movie was pretty lame. I did not care at all about the main characters. I never, ever, would have guessed this movie from the quotes. I've only seen it once.

Haha! The Grape thing. I must have breezed over that too quickly. That is so Dad. haha

I'm just back from Las Vegas. There is a lot of that artistry stuff walking the streets in that town.
