WTB Movie is Alex Talkin Bout? Part Duece

Ahh, good ol' Silverado. Dan really messed up when he picked this movie. I knew it within ten seconds of hearing the first clue. My mom turned me on to this great western a long time ago and I have seen it probably a hundred times since then. When asked what my favorite movie is I usually just throw this one out. Some classic performances from some great actors in this movie, and you get to see Earl Hindman's whole face (he was the guy who played Wilson on 'Home Improvement') Definitely worth watchin if you haven't seen it.

Here we go peeps....Good luck!

Person 1: Have some more sloppy joes. I made 'em extra sloppy for yous. I know how yous kids like 'em sloppy.
person 2: Lady, you're scaring us.

Glycerine took me back man. LOVE it. Too bad the version you've got on here is only like 10 seconds long...
Yay for the chick in forecast.

Glycerine is up there with my fave songs of all time. It is unfortunate about the short version (thanks, Em) Just kidding Em, you're great.

Yay for the chick in the forecast indeed. They are coming to SLC sometime in the fall, and i feel like I need to go to profess my love to her in person ;)

I have fixed the 20 second song. Sorry! That's something I usually look for and notice. Whoops.
I haven't been complaining about your music Alex simply because I have spent very little time on here this week :)

Hey, I think I know this movie. I just may send you a message. I just may.

I think dad had a short circuit.

I remember that glycerin song now- is it a weird version or a remake? If weird version would you like me to scour for the album version?

Also- I like that Proclaimers song a lot. Alex, you seem to be fond of Irishy groups and their happy go lucky ruckus. Listening to Flogging Molly in the car last week with Matt and Alex I thought of a funny thing (Alex might appreciate this a bit in light of what I just said--)
When we were in St. Andrews in Scotland, and one night we were walking to our hotel from dinner and there were about 3 boys walking behind us singing a drunken tune (and obviously intoxicated) After a block or two, they went into a pub and not 30 seconds later a different group of young lads walked out in front us, (coming from a different pub) arms about each other and singing a drunken tune. Do you guys (Amy and dad) remember that?

Do you ever find yourself in a corner of the world witnessing a total cliche' happening in real life right in front of you? I LOVE when that happens and it never fails to put a grin on my face. Good stuff.

Glycerine is cool Ems, thank you. Fun story bout the Proclaimers song. It was originally done by some dude named Wreckless Eric. If you've ever seen the movie "Stranger Than Fiction" its the song Will Ferrel plays for Maggie Gyllenhall. It's a ridiculously easy and fun song to play on the guitar, and it was the first one I taught Matt how to play. I was actually looking for a different Proclaimers song (not 500 miles) when I stumbled across that tasty little bundle of awkward Scottish gold.

You are correct Em, I do have a certain fondness of Celticy sounding stuff and their drunken shenanigans. I dunno why. In recent years I've been embracing and celebrating my gaelic roots, so maybe that has somethin to do with it. But I've always dug Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys and those types. In fact, there was a song I requested on the playlist that you didn't put on there. The Tossers- Goodmornin Da'. Those guys are like Flogging Molly on crack. I love it!

I love when little cliches and stereotypes manifest themselves right in front of you. However, I hate it when I take a step back from what I'm doing, saying, or thinking, and realize that I am fulfilling the cliche or stereotype. Its something I really try to avoid cause it sucks.

Well, since I'm here and it's technically Friday, here is your quote...

(singing] Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school. Well, here goes nothing.
