This movie is Deeeeeelightful! Loved it, 4 stars. So funny and just a joy to watch. Especially when Mr. Fox eats his waffles. Laughed for days.

Me too! Just been working my way through other Academy Award nominees I hadn't seen. (Just finished Hurt Locker) I'll add this to my list.

Cat you beat me to this post! We watched this about a week ago and I was totally planning on doing a post on how much I loved this movie. So here is my post:

This movie will definitely be in my top 3 movies of 2010, and I am predicting it will probably make my top 10 of the decade, probably in the top 5. There are many reasons why.

I loved this book when I was a kid. I read it quite a few times when I was like 10 or 11. It is written by the guy that wrote the Charlie in the Chocolate Factory books and James and the Giant Peach. I totally remember reading this book in my bedroom of the first house on Quiet Meadow Lane.

I was also VERY excited when I heard that Wes Anderson was directing the movie. He is one of my favorite directors. Rushmore, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and The Darjeeling Limited are such great movies. Wes Anderson movies have such a unique look to them. I remember thinking, "how is he going to make a stop motion movie look so good?" And "Will this have the unique style and look that a Wes Anderson movie has?" The answer is YES! Had I not known that Wes directed this, I think I would have guessed that he did. It totally smacks of him.

Enough about Wes, some of you might not be fans. The story is so great and so fun. Cat mentioning the waffle eating is awesome, because that is a total laugh out loud moment. The actors are great. George Clooney is the only person who could be Mr. Fox, Meryl Streep is great, and of course in Wes fashion, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Jason Schwartzman play supporting characters.

One of the funnest things about this movie was how well Wes recreated some of the illustrations from the book. The motorcycle scene and the bandit hats with Ash wearing the tube sock as a bandit hat made me so happy, and their tree house. All just made me so happy and nostalgic for that book.

I know this is a total geek love review for a cherished childhood story and movie director, but seriously, if you aren't familiar with the book, or Wes Anderson, you will still like this movie.

Aren't the dancing scenes in the different barns the best Cat?
