Happy Birthday Amy!

Happy Birthday Ames!!!! With the help of your other sisters, a couple of your daughters, and a sister-in-law I think I was able to put together a good list of things you like. We had a lot fun going back and forth on different things.

Purple has been Amy's favorite color since I can remember.

Amy loved Where the Red Fern Grows so much when she was young, she named a dog after one of the dogs. Little Ann (is Annie kind of named after this too?)

Amy loves musicals. She has loved them since she was a kid. She and Ben and Dave used to act out Camelot for the babysitter.

Amy loves to read, especially the classics, and especially Jane Austin.

Amy loves dogs. Her favorites are Laboradores and Newfoundlands. I found a picture of a mix between the two breeds.

Amy loves the Spicy Hula pizza at Perrett's.

Amy loves to play board games with her family.

Amy loves Scotland.

And she loves American Idol.

Amy loves to garden, Haley says she especially loves to plant flowers.

And no list of things Amy loves would be complete without a picture of her kids.

And finally, Amy loves the moonwalk! Bronwyn says that Amy taught her how to moonwalk before B even met Matt!

We love you Amy! You are the best big sister anyone could ask for.

Love you!!! Kisses!!!!

Happi Birthday, Arnold. I love you very much and always have been proud of you and your family. "Beware the ides of March" Your birthday always reminds me of ol' julius. My word verifacation is the best ever. I am tempted to change my blog name to it. It's heepopi. Isn't that grand? Good job on the posting, Sue and others. You forgot she likes Scott, the church, white cake with respberry filling and being alone for 5 minutes a day which she sometimes gets.... kisses, pops

Happy Birthday Aim! You are the best kind of big sister (no offense to my other two big sisters), you know guys, Amy is the game glue.
Where the Red Fern grows, hee hee. Glad you mentioned Camelot too Sue, that is Aim all the way. Hope you have a great birthday! Sundays are good birthday days.

I am lovin the heepopi dad! Perhaps the best w.v. ever.

The picture of Michael Jackson doing the moonwalk is supposed to be moving! It is a loop of him doing the moonwalk over and over again. For some reason when I saved it to the blog it is just a still picture! Lame.

Thanks Sue and all of you! You guys are the best. You thought of things I had even forgotten about. Impressed again by your memory! Thanks for not making me look too much like a nerd. I think, sometimes, that I like kindof nerdy things. Oh well, I guess we all kindof do. Thanks again for the Birthday tribute. Sundays are good birthday days. When I got home from church today, there was a surprise from B and Sarah. They made me a bouquet of fruit flowers in a basket. So cute and awesome. They also cleaned up the house. The kids and Mom are helping with dinner and mom's making my white cake with raspberry filling! YUM! I love you all so much!

P.S. Camelot is playing at the Operas in Logan this summer. Mom, Annie & I are going. If any of you would like to join us let me know. It will be great! I'm so excited.

Happy Birthday mom! You are the best! Good job all you guys at the house letting mom have a day off, she needs one more often! See mom, we didn't make you look like a nerd, because you aren't one! Wish we could be with you today! Love you! And good job Sue on the post, it's awesome!

Cat pointed out that it's Jane Austen, sorry, I knew that. I also just noticed I totally misspelled Labradors! Dad, I think you're wearing off on me!

It was funny, when I first googled Newfoundlands and labs, I got a bunch of pictures of science labs in Newfoundland.

And Amy, it blows me, Cat and Em away that you would think we think you are a nerd! Are you kidding me? You are the coolest! And I'm not just saying that. The way you raised your kids, the way you can have like 20 people staying at your house, make San Diego specials for everyone (with homeade refried beans), and just keep a cool head and want to play Settlers in the middle of the afternoon is amazing!

But like you say, we are all kind of nerds in our own way. Have you checked out my birthday list? It's full of Shakespeare and Lord of the Rings! And I haven't let you guys in on a secret I've been hiding for about 4 years now. I love the old school Star Trek! I started getting into it, and I love it! I cannot wait for the new movie to come out! Who's the nerd now?

Happy Birthday, Moses! Sorry to forget yesterday.

From my memory bank of things you love, I'd add quilting, handcart re-enacting, and (going back to your dating days) Scott eating off your plate . . .

And I'd vote nerdy but in a very cool way.

Hope you had a great birthday, you're the best!!!

Thanks guys, you're all so nice. I was worried that you'd bring up the quilting and pioneers thing like Dan did. Now you see why I was worried? I think everyone's interests look nerdy on paper, but we make them cool I guess. Star Trek Sue? EEK Just kidding! I love well rounded people who give everything a chance. Well, I've got to get back to my geneology work.

HAHAHAHA!! Amy, that was funny. I was going to make Dan delete his comment, but you already saw it. And Sue, Star Trek?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! My brother has most of the books in a box somewhere if you want to borrow them. I need to come up with some hobbies so that my birthday list isn't "Bronwyn hates this and this and this and we have no idea what she actually likes."

Sue said...

Amy your love of family history, quilting, church history stuff, pioneer re-enacting, etc... did come up in the conversation, but we decided to dig deeper. After all, it would make us all look bad if our sister/mom was such a nerd! hahahahaha! Just kidding.

And yes, I have become a fan of the old school Star Trek shows. And no B, I don't want to borrow your brother's books. Although I did feel some connection with Joe at your wedding... Anyway, it's just the old campy Shatner/Nimoy episodes I watch. I don't watch any of the next generation stuff. (I just realized that is probably not helping).

Sue said...

Oh, I forgot to say B, you don't have to worry about a big list of things you don't like. Being the nerd that I am, I have come up with a spreadsheet listing everyone's likes for their Birthday posts. And I have already posted some things on your page. Everyone has a worksheet. I love spreadsheets! I've told you guys about my Sunday's With Sue spreadsheet!

So if anyone needs to sacrafice a nerd to the nerd god, I would suggest me.

Pops said...

Holy Bip! Sue. A spreadsheet junkie. I never would have known. You better see your Bishop or go see a professional. Love you anyway. Pops

Amy said...

The spreadsheet thing is hilarious, but a good idea. Do you have one started for Mom yet?

Amy said...

You didn't need to delete Dan's comment. He was absolutely right. I was just glad that you all knew that I like other things too! And He also knew how much I LOVED Scott eating off my plate! I had actually kindof forgotten about that...He must not be doing that so much anymore!

Amy said...

Oh, and by the way, Annie was named after one of our great-great grandmothers, Annie Scarborough Fox, (family history nerd that I am). I just really loved that name. Still have very good memories of my very loyal dog, Anne.

Dan W said...

I knew you didn't like Scott eating off your plate, but you would laugh about it whenever he did it, which I thought was really endearing.

And I will definitely switch my nerd vote over to Sue now given the ST and spreadsheet revelations. (I will admit, though, that a campy Shatner is one of my secret pleasures, as well. Have you ever heard his songs done with Ben Folds, such as "Common People"? What a hoot!)

Haley said...

Yes, Sue, that is pretty nerdy but who can blame you for being organized? That is definitely a good thing! Yes, we need to do a post for Grandma's birthday. I can think of like a million things that B likes just off the top of my head, you are pretty open about your likes and dislikes.

Sue said...

I love William Shatner! Yes, I've heard some of his songs, they are hilarious! I love his Priceline commercials and Boston Legal! Denny Crane! Thanks for not being too hard on me about the Star Trek thing. It's not like I'd go to a convention or anything.

I do have a page on the spreadsheet for mom, but I don't have anything listed on it yet. Feel free to email me any ideas. For Matt and Scott too. Oh yeah, and Travis! Cat do you want me to do one on Travis or would you rather do it? I'm happy to do them, I think they're fun.

Cat said...

You can do it. I'm kind of scared of posting.
