Sunday's With Sue

There's Something about Mary! A classic by the Farrelly Brothers. They did such gems as Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, Shallow Hal and Stuck on You. If you haven't seen There's Something about Mary because it is rated R, well I suggest you watch it when one of the cable stations runs an edited version of it. It is such a good movie! The whole story is great, Ben Stiller is hilarious and Cameron Diaz is actually okay in it.

Out of all the Sunday's With Sue, this has been the biggest stumper yet! I was kind of surprised because I took this movie off the Wright master movie list! Someone sent this title to me as a Wright classic movie! And, the 2 hint quotes I did would be easily recognized by anyone who saw the movie, or so I thought! Dan got it right first! Then Emily, and that was it! Way to go again Dan! Looks like you are going to be a contender for the Matt and Em wars.

Alright, let's see if you guys do better with this week's movie quote:

"I would rather be with the people of this town, than with the finest people in the world!"

Good luck everyone!

Aw, shucks. Lucky to know this one. Was only about 80 percent sure when I sent in the right answer, but then with Friday's clue, I knew I had it. What a gross scene that one about all the zits was!

Now I still can't for the life of me remember the context for the line that was the first clue (about South Carolina apologizing). Can you fill me/us in? I don't own the movie but I have seen it a few times.

I have a fun little side connection to the film. One of my best friends is a longtime friend of Jonathan Richman, the fellow who plays the guitar and sings commentary between some of the movie's scenes. This friend, Les, has the exclusive rights to produce and sell all of Jonathan's official merchandise, runs all online sales, etc. Anyway, through him we came very close to getting Jonathan to perform at one of our Sunstone symposiums in the Bay Area but it fell apart just a few weeks before. That would have been cool, but oh well....

This week's clue seems really familiar! I'm remembering a really neat scene but can't recall the film . . . yet!

Oh Man! Oh Man! After the Santiago Chile hint, I knew I have seen this movie and even was thinking of Ben Stiller pretending to be an architect and geting caught at it. I racked and racked my soggy brain I could not come up with the title. I am such a soggy brained dumb...! Waytogo Dan. You are a force.

I've never seen this movie :-( I knew none of it seemed familiar at all.

Never saw it. Just one I never got around to seeing. Dad really did almost have it, he said to me one day: "I know its Ben Stiller, I can see the scene in my head"
Good work Dan.

dad was close, but it's Matt Damon that delivers the line, he was on the right track. I honestly have never seen the movie except for on USA, so i haven't seen the full uncut version. It is very funny though, rob and I watch it every time we see it on tv. Did the first one have to do with the psycho hitchhiker? That's the only thing i can think of. I als Dan was not totally sure of my guess. Lines were very familiar, but had a hard time pinpointing them.

This is a great movie, and Em watching the edited version on cable, you really aren't missing much except language.

The context of the first quote is when Ben Stiller is arrested because they think he is the serial killer. They are awful to him during the interrogation then the next scene he's sleeping with a big black guy spooning him. It's hilarious.

Em is close, in that it's Matt Dillon (much homlier fellow than Matt Damon) pretending to be the architect (to impress Mary) in the Santiago, Chile, line with the other guy in the scene a fellow pretending to be crippled (to impress Mary) who is trying to catch Dillon in a lie.

Forgot about the prison scene, Sue. You're right: hilarious!

Haha! That's hilarious I called him Matt Damon! I've had a stressful weekend with little sleep and messed up my Matt names.
I figured I haven't missed much except language. Once while watching, Rob did say once that the "zipper" scene is more graphic and detailed -shall I say. I am fine with missing that too. The killer hitch hikes with Stiller right? Makes me want to watch this again..

Dang, Dan is definitely a force to be reckoned with in this game. Way to go!

I forgot to say ealier, that that is really cool about Jonathan Richman Dan! The little scenes with him in the movie are really funny.

Here is the Wednesday hint quote:

Guy: Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?

Girl: Isn't that from a song?

Guy: Well, they made it into a song.

Girl: You wrote that song?

Guy: No....but I like that song.

Did someone guess correctly, hence no Friday hint?

I've had a couple of Wright guesses. I just thought more people would get it with Wednesday's hint! But if you want a Friday one too, here it is:

Would you mind not bobbing your head up and down? The orchestra keeps changing tempo.

I think my guess is way off. But that is how I roll.

Frickin' hilarious clue! Sorry, Cat, but I'm feeling pretty good about my guess off the Wednesday clue.

Haley and I think our guess is wrong now too. Sounds familiar, but I think I have a little pregnancy brain rubbing off on me this week! I have no clue.

Seems like I have seen this movie, but my brain is quiet and not working well. I am using this posting because I was going to make a comment on Travis's birthday posting but the word verification was enuicne and I wasn't going to get close to that one and this one is champhot. Yeah!!! that's me!!!

Man, I am a complete dozer. Rereading the hints I should have gotten it from any of the three. I just suck at this, but it is fun and keep going Sue. Wayto go Ems and Dan.
