Have a very merry, holly holy, cherry cherry Christmas!
Oh Neil, you have managed to take self indulgence to new heights-- and I love it!! My only complaint is that he couldn't manage a Love on the Rocks reference. "A" game Neil, bring it next time.
Isn't this the greatest! I was driving home from taking Annie to an early morning basketball practice and this little gem came on the radio. I had to sit in my driveway to hear the whole thing. Then I just had to share. I was a little disappointed that he couldn't fit in a "turn on your heart-light" reference either, Em. Come on! Good stuff Neil!
NO WAY!! HAHA! I about died watching this! The Rockin Rolly Christmas got me the most too! Not rockin ROLLIN, or rocky rolly, but rockin ROLLY. Only Neil could get away with something like this! Blending his old song lyrics into one incredibly cheesy Jewish Christmas song! WHAT THE BIP! I love that he threw in "so good, so good" I am finding it crazy that I liked this. It made me laugh, but I also just dug it a little. I think this proves that I will ALWAYS support the Neil. What is it about this guy that can win over our family?!? Like, for real? I think if I was in any other normal state of mind, or consistent with my normal taste in music... I wouldn't give Neil a megabyte of ipod space... BUT NO! I have like two live albums and a greatest hits!!
CHERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Seriously?? This couldn't have been a funnier parody!
Oh... and I didn't realize the Mantis picture is gone until just now... haha. A friend and I are doing website stuff and I guess he was playing with some stuff. We just may have to say goodbye to the Mantis. But the flexing picture has got to go...
Oh. My. Bip sauce. I would have to say the "Cherry Christmas everyone" at the end was what got me the most. Holy cow. And what was with the shot of outer space?! Maybe that was a very subtle Heart Light reference? Nah, Neil is probably anything but subtle. How fun!!
After listening to it a few times yesterday, I just had to download it. It is now on my ipod for many more smiles. By the way, I learned that he released a new Christmas album in 2009 called "Cherry Christmas". Most of the songs are repeats from his other two albums, though some may have been redone. It was intended to be "less serious" than the other two albums. I think he succeeded.
OBSESS MUCH?? (in the voice of Ace Ventura). :) What cracks me up are the kids. They are all thinking, "why did my mom make me do this?" or "who is this guy and what the bip is he talking about?"
Neil is the "Man". Why I do not know and why our family digs him so much. Alien mutants and underwater pod songwriter bodies in our genes, I guess. This old man singing and the unhappy kids holding hands just make me laugh. It reminds me of a not too well done Ward Christmas program. But, I laughed and loved it. Thanks to my new imac I finally was able to watch and hear it. Yum!!! Stand up for computers that work and are fast.
I just watched it again and I take back by comment about a poorly done Ward program. It was a pretty dang good ward program. Band, strings, harp, bells and all was pretty good backup to Niel. Even the childern looked happier.
I ordered and got some new speakers for you computer yesterday. I got them working this morning and now I can hear really well this cheesy song and love it more.

That is.......THE BEST CHRISTMAS SONG I'VE EVER HEARD!!! Oh man, I love Neil Diamond.
I was at an Asian market a few days ago and they were listening to one of Neil's Christmas albums. It made me happy.
I'm Neil Diamond! I will smack you in the face!
I must admit, the song is great for laughs, but I don't see it being included in any Christmas playlists in my house.
It's just my silly boyfriend doing his thing.

Holly Holy Holidays to you all.
I'm glad I got to hear the song first, without the cheesy video. No distractions. But, cheesy and Neil go hand in hand and that's why we love him so.

Got some pretty amazing grace... if ya know what I mean.
