Lots of Pictures!!

Here are a lot of pictures of a lot of stuff we have been up to here in Wyoming! This includes, our new kitties that we got from someone who rescued them after they were abandoned in a stock yard. There were three that he found and one was already dead. Poor little things. We got them last night and they are so adorable! They are both male. We kinda want to name them Jacob and Edward but aren't sure if those names really fit them. Haha. I think they look like little gremlins! Anyway, there are also pictures of carving pumpkins last night, our trip to Mt. Rushmore and Devil's Tower, and B's birthday. Enjoy!

KITTENS!!!!!!!!!!! I love kittens. Poor little things. If I had property like you guys, I would have so many cats! I'm so glad you guys rescued them. I want to go home now and give Pedro a hug. (I love all my cats, Pedro is just the one that lets me hug her).

What is that on mom's head?

That is so cool you guys got to see all those animals so up close. I want to go on one of those trips!

Is that a birthday casserole or something you guys made for B?

Haley-it is weird to see you pregnant!

It is bread pudding with a butterscotch sauce for B's birthday. She loves it. I also made a yummy chocolate ganache bundt cake. It is a turkey feather on Mom's head. Kyle entertained Simonne & Felix for hours putting things on Mom's head and seeing how long it took her to notice. Look at his face in the background. He's so funny. It reminded me of the plane ride to London with you Em. Kyle is just a little Scott!

Jacob and Edward, hee hee, I love it.

Kyle smiling back there is priceless! His father's son indeed.

Sounds like the trips were very fun you got some great wildlife pictures.

Take a wiz!! Booker has adopted that. Always makes me laugh and think of Dad.

Oops. I commented on the wrong posting! It was meant to follow Matt's from the Road Trip One. Retard day.

That bread putting butterscotch thing seems #$@%! to me. No offense to whomever made it, it's just not my thing.

It's SOOOO good! I don't care for the butterscotch stuff, but I LOVE the bread pudding itself. Don't knock it until you've tried it Sue. Haha, but one of my coworkers was making fun of me for liking bread pudding. She called it "Old person food."

love the pictures, punpkins, mom with turkey feather, kittens and Sylvan lake. All good. Maybe a kitten nameing contest? Rick and Fratz? Tom and Jerry? Bud and Lou? Moe and Curly? Joseph and Hyram? Peter and Pan?
Yeah! Lately I have noticed so much growth and crazyness from Kyle and much like his dad. He is going to be a fun kid to see grow up.

I discovered bread pudding at Riverside. I love it, but agree that it is old person food, but I am finding I like a lot of food I (and Rob!) deem "old person food".

I'm going to make an awesome old lady. I am also going to have really, really, really thick glasses. It's going to be great.

The trip was a lot of fun. I'm not a fan of bread pudding either, it is too mushy for me. Hate mushy food. Especially gross when you are prego. I was wondering Cat, when I read your comment I was like, "when did anyone mention wizzing??" Haha. That's funny. So a bit of bad news, we found the kitty Jacob almost dead about 2 hours ago. It was freezing cold and stiff and has been having weird grayish diarreah. (I know that isn't how you spell it.) Poor little thing. Our best guess is they got really hungry while it was abandoned at the stock yard and perhaps ate some rat poison. Whoever abandoned them is evil, if you are going to kill a kitten at least don't let it suffer. So cruel. It is warming up by the fire so hopefully it will make it.

Oh poor little thing! Tell Jacob his Utah peeps are pulling for him.
I think it is a badge of honor not being able to spell "water poop" (which is Scout's word for that and I like it a lot better and can spell it. Scout makes up good words.

I will never like bread pudding! I worked at a restaurant in Salt Lake for over 3 years that supposedly served "the best bread pudding" in Utah! I hated it! It is a total texture and taste thing with me. Please don't think you'll win me over with some great bread pudding recipe either. It is something I'm okay with not liking. I like other old people food like meatloaf and stuff.

Poor kitty! Did it live? Please keep me updated, even though I really don't want to know if it is a bad outcome.

Good news on the kitten!! He is doing great and is pretty much back to normal. He's eating like there is no tomorrow. You wouldn't believe how close to death he was. There were a couple times when I was holding him where I swore he had died. I couldn't even see or feel him breath. But once in a while he would make a little noise and move a little. As he warmed, he started looking like he was just sleeping. The kids started giving him warm milk through a dropper and he started perking up.By about 8:00 he was walking around on shakey little legs. He wouldn't let Annie leave him. He kept sitting on her leg. If she would leave for a second, he would cry. (He has the loudest meow I've ever heard especially for something so little!) We put a space heater and a blanket in the laundry room and he ate some canned food. He looked like a wild tiger. He growled at his brother for trying to eat some too. I was still a little nervous to go in there this morning, but he is doing great and ate again this morning. The water poop (love it Scout!) seems to be slowing down so I think he will be fine! Marcus thinks we should name him Lucky so we are kindof calling him Lucky Jake.

Sue said...

Yay Jacob! That is good news and it made my day. I think Jacob is a good name for him. But maybe Edward is more appropriate since he came so close to death and then came back to life.

And way to have super healing powers Amy! From now on I shall call you Aragorn, son of Arathorn.

Emily said...

Grand idea Sue! Just switch the names. He was cold, so is Edward. He went through his suffering period, kind of like Edward and then woke up reborn and liking meat (blood / meat, what's the difference?)

No offense Marcus, but Lucky- kind of cliche'.

Amy could also be called Poppy Pomfrey.

Sue said...

Holy Crap Em I amost said the exact same thing about naming the cat Lucky would be cliche! But I erased it because I didn't want to sound rude, hee hee.

I guess we could call Amy Poppy Pomfrey, I like Aragorn better. Or we could call her Mandrakes.

Cat said...

Em and Sue are having a nerd contest.

Emily said...

Mandrakes only cure people who have been petrfied.

I feel Marcus and I are friends enough that I can say such things to him (or about him and figure he will hear it later).

B said...

HAHA!! Cat, that was the best comment EVER.

I would like to point out that Matt sat with the kitten for like an hour, feeding him through the dropper, and moving him from in front of the fire to the floor, holding his mouth open so he could eat, etc. I think it was with Matt that Jacob made the most progress. All night, he kept talking about what a tender moment it was and how he was so happy that the kitten had started eating and crawling again before we left. After we left, Amy sent him a picture of the two kittens, bright eyed and curled up around one another, and he almost choked up. I think that was the cutest part of our entire marriage.

Haley said...

Oh, reading that made me tear up. Big surprise for me though. Haha. Yeah, Marcus is cute like that. He likes cliche pet names and I think it is cute. I am so torn between calling him Edward. Those things that Sue and Em mentioned are true, but Edward (the kitten) is more white and is fluffy which makes him seem more Edward. The other one has more brown spots and has a little bit more ragged fur, and is bigger. So, that is why we named them such. I think we will just stick with it. I can't believe how fast he changed from being so weak and sleepy to jumping up and back to normal! He is a little trooper.

Sue said...

That is so cute about Matt! I shall call him Aragorn, son of Arathorn. I think he'll like that. Amy can be Poppy. I thought Mandrakes was appropriate because it sounds like the kitten was kind of petrified.

Yes Cat, we are nerds, but who's nickname is Glaven? Hmmmmm?

Amy said...

I guess I better read LTR so I can be honored by my nickname. It definitely was a group healing effort. I had to leave for two hours for pack meeting and Parent-Teacher conferences and when Matt texted me, I was kindof scared to open it. It was a good report.

I don't really want to be called a mandrake--they creeped me out.

Emily said...

Aim, you are the healer from Harry Potter now, not LOTRs (Matt assumed that position, much to his unsatisfaction I am sure).

Glavin! HAHA!!

Emily said...

Speaking of Ms. Preggers (and Harry Potter)-- you make sure you have plenty of kleenex on hand as you read the 7th book. I wasn't pregnant and I still can get a little lump in my throat if I think about a certain part too much.

How is that for nerd Cath?

Sue said...

Em, your last comment just secured your title as Queen of the Nerds! I know I've only read 3 of the books, but I can't imagine a character in the HP series that can die and bring a lump in my throat years later!

But, to be fair, I know how that is. To this day when I think of that scene in Return of the King when Aragorn says to the Hobbits "you bow to no one" and then the whole city bows to them! AWWWWWW! I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it. (and I'm totally serious, I'm not kidding about that).

For the record, it's not a death that gets me either.

Kitten update: Doing great. When I open the door he is the one that runs the fastest to me. He sits on my foot and climbs up my leg. He is good as new. A little diarrhea still, but eating well. I just gave them both baths which isn't the funnest thing. The poor little things don't have a mommy to clean them. They had "stuff" dried up all over their feet, legs, and tails. All clean now and sitting in front of the heater. Enjoy your breakfast! Sorry.

Pops said...

Sounds to me like they do have a mommy now. Aregon or Poppy or whoever you are now, Amy. Mandrakes?? Bless you and the kittys. However, upon reading this bunch of comments on this posting I must say you all sound like a coven of nerds or Hobbits or something very wierd. Most unusual group of grownups, ever!!! LOve you all.....

Sue said...

Oh dad, that last comment made me laugh for about 10 minutes! The ladies at work think I'm crazy because I sit here and giggle every once in a while.

I'm glad you love your little coven of nerdlings. You helped create us!

I also really like Matt's what the bip comment.

Haley said...

Grandpa, you are totally reading New Moon right now!!! Coven!!! As in a coven of vampires perhaps? SO EXCITED FOR THE MOVIE!!! Em, are you planning on coming up for the movie still?? It comes out Nov 21st, which I'm sure you knew already. By the way, have you seen the new trailer? It's really cool, and the soundtrack list!! So I guess I have joined the coven of nerdlings! Yay! Sue you crack me up. Oh yeah, I also had my second prenatal app today and everything is great! I heard the heartbeat for the first time which was so cute.

Emily said...

I too correlated dad using the term "coven" to the fact that he is reading the Twilight series. Hee hee.
At least we like stuff and don't act like we are too cool to like stuff.

Emily said...

Oh yes, the movie stuff. What are the travel dates for the Disneyland trip? The 21st is close to Thanksgiving, so I imagine we need to plan around it. I am totally up for it!
I haven't seen the new trailer, I did know that there was a new one, but keep forgetting to watch it. I've seen her other soundtracks or playlists for her books and they mostly go over my head, but I will take a look at it.
Always very cute to hear that little heartbeat. Congrats! When are you 20 weeks?

Haley said...

I have my 20 week sonogram in 3 weeks! (And we are going to find out what it is.)So the week before Thanksgiving, and the 21st is the friday of that week and then we leave for Thanksgiving the following tuesday. Does that make sense? Yeah, the new trailer is on the movie website and the soundtrack for the movie is on the same site. It has Bella's Lullaby on it!!! The composer who did the score composed it, how cool is that? Can't wait to hear it.

Emily said...

Alright! I will plan on coming out that weekend! Yay! Now Sue, you are invited.... I dare say you will have a problem with seeing the movie on the weekend it is coming out. It sounds like dad is going though, and I gotta witness that.....
Cath you coming? We could do that sister's trip we like to do. I understand if you all have "other engagements".

Haley said...

YAY!!!!!!!!!COME ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!

Emily said...

Sounds like Cath and I are coming-- Sue has been silent today, so no word on that front.

Pops said...

Is Sue ever silent????
